July 30th. All presidents must be sure that RYLA is in their new budgets. All clubs must determine how many students they can send at $350 per student and how much they can contribute to the RYLA Scholarship fund.
July 30th. Presidents must assign a RYLA chair person for their club and let the RYLA District Staff know who they are and how to reach the. Each Club President becomes the default contact if no RYLA chair is assigned.
August 15th. All Clubs should receive DVD presentation disk.
September 30th. Online Space Reservations to be completed and payments mailed in to RYLA District Staff. Address for mailing is given at the end of the online reservation process.
October 31st. Club level RYLA chairpersons should contact high schools, interact clubs, Scouting organizations, churches, Junior Achievement and community athletic programs in an effort to introduce RYLA to prospective candidates.
November 15th. All prospective candidates should be identified and interviews should be scheduled.
January 15th. All RYLA interviews should be completed. All final selections should be made and 1st alternates should be informed in writing. Send list of all selections, designate alternates, to RYLA Admin admin@ryla5240.org.
January 31st. Each Club Level RYLA chairperson should be sure that all selected RYLA candidates have completed their online registration.
February 15th. All required parent signatures should be sent in. It is the duty of the Club Level RYLA chairperson to look on the RYLA website to see if all parent forms are received by RYLA District staff. (Registration is NOT complete until all forms are turned in)
February 15th. All Rotarians volunteering for RYLA must register online and acknowledge that they must attend a training day. Not everyone who volunteers is guaranteed to be called upon.
March 1st. All selected volunteers must have their background consent forms in.
April 23rd - 26th inc. 2009 Rotary District 5240 RYLA Event at Camp Ramah, Ojai, CA.
April 30th. All Club level RYLA chairpersons to invite their RYLA ambassadors to come and speak to their clubs as a thank you and a report on their experiences.
